Health and Welfare

With the support of Karuna-Shechen, programs dedicated to women's health and welfare have been developed in eastern Tibet, India, and Nepal. They focus on HIV-AIDS prevention, domestic violence, family planning, and social assistance to single mothers.

In the Shechen Clinic, Nepal, a gynecologist treats and counsels women. Family planning guidance is easily available and there are programs to help mothers with psychological problems.

In India, special attention is given to childcare and nutrition and the empowerment of women.
